Sobre os limites das noções de justiça territorial/espacial (e por arrasto das design-based approaches) já o Harvey dizia em 1973 que "programmes which seek to alter distribution without altering the capitalist market structure within which income and wealth are generated and distributed, are doomed to failure”. Na tradição Marxista produção é distribuição, o que significa que a justiça distributiva só pode ser atingida pela redefinição do sistema produtivo. As tradições liberais separam as partes do todo e como tal, "[push] for prophylaxis rather than radical surgery, for fixing institutions rather than fixing the market system” (Merrifield 2002). Perante isto, como nos podemos nós transformar em "insurgent architects" (Harvey 2000) e projectar (!) SPACES OF HOPE?
